What is a private photography experience?

A private photography experience is a one on one photography adventure designed around you. Instead of joining a group workshop, you’ll have my full attention and guidance throughout the experience. We’ll explore carefully selected locations while I help you understand your camera, improve composition, work with natural light and create a landscape photograph you’ll be proud to call your own.

Do I need any photography experience?
No experience is needed. Both experiences are designed to be accessible for everyone.

Is this a photoshoot?
No. These are guided experiences. Photography is part of it, but the focus is on how you experience the moment.

Experience Details

How long is the experience?
The experience is approximately 8 hours. This gives us plenty of time to explore different locations, learn and practice photography techniques and create without feeling rushed. The exact timing may vary depending on the location, weather and light conditions.

Where do the experiences take place?
Experiences take place in Kananaskis and Banff National Park at carefully selected locations.

Will we visit more than one location?
Yes. Experiences include visiting multiple locations to offer different perspectives.

What kind of activities are included?

The experience combines hands on photography, creative challenges and learning along the way. We’ll work with composition, natural light, perspective and camera settings while exploring different locations. I’ll also introduce photography games and exercises designed to train your eye, encourage creativity and help you see nature from a new perspective.

What will I receive after the experience?
You will receive access to a private gallery and one professionally printed image 24x36".
Additional photos may be available after the experience.

Booking & Payment

A 50% deposit is required to secure your experience date. Once your booking is confirmed, that day is reserved exclusively for you and is no longer available for other photography bookings.

The remaining 50% is due on the day of your experience.

Rescheduling

Plans can change, so every booking includes one complimentary reschedule. You may move your experience to another available date without providing a reason, as long as at least 7 days’ notice is provided.

If you need to reschedule a second time, the booking will be considered cancelled and the 50% deposit will be forfeited. A new booking and deposit will be required to reserve another date.

This policy allows me to dedicate the entire day to your experience while protecting the time reserved specifically for you.

Gear

What gear will be provided?

You’ll have access to my professional photography equipment, including the Canon 5D Mark IV and Canon R6 Mark II, along with a selection of lenses: 16–35mm f/2.8, 70–200mm f/2.8 and 150–600mm.

You’ll also learn how to work with a professional tripod, LEE filter kit, 6 stop and 10 stop ND filters and graduated filters. This gives you the opportunity to experiment with different focal lengths, long exposures and techniques used in professional landscape photography.

Will I learn how to use a camera?
Yes, but in a simple and natural way. The focus is on helping you see differently rather than technical perfection.

Can I bring my own camera?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own camera if you prefer.

Logistics

How many people can join the experience?

The experience is designed for one person so I can provide you with my full attention, equipment and personalized guidance.

Can I bring a second person?

Yes! You’re welcome to bring one additional person along at no extra cost. They can join us and enjoy the adventure with you but they won’t participate in the full photography experience.

If they would like to fully participate, you can add them for $500. This includes their own disposable camera, access to an Instax instant camera, all photography activities and one fine art print of their choice after the experience.

How do I secure my booking?
Full payment is required once the date and location are confirmed.

Is transportation included?Transportation is not included and you are responsible for getting to the designated meeting location. However, carpooling may be available after signing a transportation waiver. We can discuss the best option when planning your experience.

Do I need a park pass?
Yes, if required for the location.
Banff National Park requires a valid park pass.
Kananaskis requires a Conservation Pass.

Are park passes included in the experience?
No. Park passes are not included and must be purchased separately.

Weather

What happens if the weather is bad?

Weather is an important part of the experience and often adds to the atmosphere. Not every day is sunny and the mountains can be just as beautiful in moody, cloudy conditions.
If conditions are unsafe or not suitable, we will reschedule to another date.

Do experiences run in all weather conditions?
Most experiences run in a variety of conditions, but your safety and overall experience always come first.

Preparation

What should I bring?
Comfortable clothing, proper footwear and water. I will let you know if anything specific is needed.

Do I need to be in good physical shape?
No. The experience is designed to be accessible and adjusted to your comfort level.

After the Experience

How long does it take to receive my photos?

Digital images are delivered within a two weeks. Printed artwork takes longer depending on production and shipping.

Can I purchase additional images?
Yes. You will have the option to purchase more images after viewing your gallery.

What do I receive after the experience?
You will receive access to a private gallery and one professionally printed image. You will also have the option to upgrade your print to a larger size or a different medium for an additional fee.
