A Day of Disconnect: Recharging in the Rockies with Hubert

When planning Hubert's experience, he mentioned feeling tired from work and life in general and wanted to disconnect for a day. I suggested visiting several remote places with no phone service, and asked him to leave his phone in the car. I took on the responsibility of documenting our experience to ensure he would come back home with a collection of cool pictures to remind him of this special time.

We started at Emerald Lake, arriving just before sunrise. I believe sunrise is one of the best times to fully enjoy the Rocky Mountains, as most places are still quiet with few people around. The conditions were perfect: beautiful morning light illuminated the surrounding mountains, and the stillness of the lake created a perfect reflection. We explored the lake for about an hour and a half before heading to our next destination.

On the way to Mistaya Canyon, we stopped at Natural Bridges to enjoy more of the morning sunlight. The drive along Highway 93 was mesmerizing, especially with the fantastic weather we had that day, making the journey relaxing. At Mistaya Canyon, we explored the area and took a short hike.

Afterwards, we drove to a nearby campground, where we set up a bonfire, cooked a delicious lunch, and spent an hour resting in hammocks. We ended the experience by exploring the area for more memorable moments before driving back to Calgary.
