If you think the second day was packed with attractions, wait until I summarize the third day! We woke even earlier this time and drove back to Ku’ilioloa Heiau to catch some morning light. The mission was a success, and we captured some really nice images.
While taking the image you see on the left, I received an email notifying me that someone had just purchased one of my FineArt prints. I was in Hawaii, creating beautiful images, and earning money from my passion. It felt like I had reached another level in life, confirming that I was on the right path chasing my dreams.
After this awesome start to the day, we decided to check out the local bodyboarding competitions. I was very impressed by what those guys were doing on their boards!
Feeling a bit tired, we drove to the nearest beach to relax and rest for a few hours. The waves were bigger than usual, which gave me the opportunity to work on a few interesting shots I was very excited about.
In the afternoon, we drove back to Waianae to get some food and explore the local landscape.
For sunset, we decided to hike to the westernmost point of the island, Ka‘Ena Point Natural Area Reserve. The hike took a few hours, but we stopped frequently to capture the unique landscape. We made it back to our car just as they were closing the park gate! We were unaware of the closing time, and a few minutes later we would have had to spend the night in our car. Luckily, we made it in time and drove back to our place in Honolulu.
